For non-Chicagoans, the large building in the first panel is the Harold Washinton Library downtown. Unfortunately for me, “Library” is not actually written on the outside, necessitating this bloggity footnote.
The “Str8 Bustin'” book is based on a real book written by Dan Aykroyd’s father Peter, which currently sits on my Amazon wishlist.
I dunno if anyone would pay attention to sign even if there was one on the library. They’d probably be too distracted by the awe-tastic owls on the roof.
Maybe you could’ve put in a sound effect coming from the train platform, “Doors open on the right at Library… State and Van Buren.”
aw, that would have been swell. but again, that’s a local inside joke. my Australian readers wouldn’t get it! don’t you ever think of them, Chris??
Clearly not. :P
