Revenge is a dish best served in the form of spittle. Just ask Baron Harkonnen.
Always a pleasure to include some of Chicago’s treasures in a strip. From left to right: Potter Palmer’s Grecian temple he shares with his wife, Bertha; Henry Hamilton Honoré and family, tucked away in their Gothic masterpiece replete with creepy cherubs; and the geometric Getty mausoleum, designed by the glorious Louis Sullivan. Take it from me, this tomb’s no square! *head injury*
Seriously, I can’t say enough good stuff about Graceland. I didn’t even touch Daniel Burnham’s unnatural natural island, or the ghostly Inez Clarke (who may or may not have existed), or Mausoleum Row, or…yeah, just go.
I love how you used the little drawing of the L, very clever.
And yes, everyone, visit Graceland Cemetery, easily accessed from the red line stop at Sheridan. Just take a left down Irving Park and you can’t miss it!
or the Clark bus, or the Montrose bus, or the Irving Park bus…plus there’s Wunders and Jewish Graceland just across Irving. I remember driving with my sister’s friend Annette before I moved to the city, fascinated by cemeteries on both sides of the street. years later, I moved within walking distance. what a shocker :)
thanks for the L compliment! he had to get back to work downtown some way.
I love the little train in between, very cool. The little bits matter.
